CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS PARTICIPATION POLICY

CTC National Cycling Council's cycling development committee has recognised the need for a participation policy for children and young people taking part in recreational cycling activities. The policy is particularly aimed at club runs, touring, charity rides, randonnees, try-outs and family rides.

CTC recognises:

·        Anyone under the age of 18 is considered to be a child/young person

·        The policy refers to vulnerable adults as well as children

It is not intended that this policy is a deterrent. Grampian DA welcomes young people on our rides.

The full policy may be viewed at:

www.ctc.org.uk/resources/Training_and_Education/ChildParticipationPolicyJuly2003Ver1.doc

In summary, CTC participation rules for all activities:

·        All individuals <18 years to complete a CTC Standard Entry Form with signature of parent/guardian

·        Parent/guardian to accompany all children <13 years and complete CTC Standard Entry Form

The CTC Standard Entry form can be downloaded for completion from:

www.ctc.org.uk/resources/Training_and_Education/StandardEntryFormJulyVersion.doc

or obtained from any Runs Leader, or from the Secretary. Please send an sae to:

91 Whitehall Place, Aberdeen, AB25 2PD.
